Vigil Planned for Kami Ring

The 10-year-old was found dead in Port Deposit Monday.

A candlelight vigil is planned for the Charlestown girl who was found dead in Port Deposit near her grandparents' house on Monday.

Kami Ring, 10, was reported missing Monday morning, according to Maryland State Police. Her body was discovered Monday evening approximately 60 yards from the home where she had been staying with her grandparents on Waibel Road in Port Deposit, police said.

To honor her memory, the Cecil County Boys and Girls Club is hosting a candlelight vigil on Wednesday, June 12. The vigil will be at 8 p.m. at Long Point Park at the Charlestown Pier.

"This will be a celebration of life for Kami Ring," the Cecil County Boys and Girls Club posted on Facebook. "Please feel free to stop in and share stories and memories you have of Kami."
